How to schedule Instagram posts with Claude

From a Claude carousel to a scheduled Instagram post
Before you start, create a Wavos account, connect your Instagram account, and use a Claude plan that supports the required connector and upload capabilities. No credit card is required for the Wavos 7-day trial.
- Connect Wavos to Claude. Add the Wavos server in Settings → Connectors and approve access through OAuth. Follow the MCP connector setup.
- Allow image uploads. In Claude Settings → Capabilities → Domain whitelist, add
wavos-render-production.s3.amazonaws.com. A successful connector login alone does not enable generated-image uploads. - Prepare the images and caption. Create your carousel in Claude or use existing images. The documented upload workflow accepts one to six PNG, JPEG, or WebP images, up to 5MB each; uploads cost 0.5 credits per image.
- Specify the account, caption, and posting time. Give the exact connected Instagram username, slide order, date, time, and timezone. If you have multiple accounts, say which one to use.
- Check the result in Wavos. After Claude confirms the scheduling action, open your Wavos Calendar or Content library to verify the account, caption, media order, time, and status. Don’t treat an upload confirmation as a scheduled post.
Example prompt to adapt
“Use Wavos to upload these carousel images in their current order. Schedule them on my connected Instagram account @yourbrand for November 5, 2026 at 9:00 AM America/Los_Angeles, using this caption: [your caption]. Confirm the account and scheduled time.”
Replace the username, date, timezone, and caption with your own. This is an illustrative prompt, not a live scheduling result. The tool requires a timezone-aware datetime.
For a single image, use the same workflow with one file. To publish immediately, ask to publish now instead of supplying a future time. If an upload or scheduling call fails, resolve the error and check your calendar before retrying to avoid duplicates.

Scheduling Instagram posts with Claude: FAQs
Can Claude post directly to Instagram?
Claude needs a publishing connection rather than chat alone. With Wavos connected through MCP and OAuth, it can upload supported images and publish or schedule them to your connected Instagram account.
Do I still need to download files or AirDrop them to my phone?
For the documented image and carousel workflow, Claude can upload the finished images through Wavos MCP, so you do not need to transfer them to your phone and paste the caption into Instagram. Configure Claude’s domain whitelist before uploading.
Why can Claude connect but not upload my carousel?
Check the domain whitelist in Claude Settings → Capabilities. Add wavos-render-production.s3.amazonaws.com, then check image format, size, upload completion, and available credits. OAuth authorization and permission to upload generated files are separate requirements.
Can I use ChatGPT instead?
Yes, the Wavos publishing workflow also supports ChatGPT through an OAuth-compatible MCP connector. Available connector settings depend on your assistant’s plan and version.
Does this also set up Instagram comment-to-DM replies?
No. Configure keyword-triggered comment-to-DM rules in the Wavos app. MCP handles uploads and publishing; it does not create messaging rules. Instagram permissions and messaging policies still apply.
